Does altruism and friendship exist in literature?
The publishing world is a battlefield and publishing a text is one of the most difficult things, almost impossible, today as in the past.
In recent years, in fact, many writers have resorted to self-publishing in order to get their works printed.
Which is quite sad given that the market is always looking for new stories and novels that can also give rise to film adaptations.
Unfortunately, many authors, not always well-known, cannot find publishers willing to publish their works and, after having spent years writing their book, they also have to face the financial costs of printing the texts.
This is why our Editorial Staff, for its part, has tried to help some writers, making their talent known and promoting their work.
It must be admitted, however, that many writers who later became famous have experienced a thousand difficulties in the course of their personal history in finding publishers willing to publish their writings.
Others say that there are too many writers or that everyone wants to write. However, this cannot be a limitation because, on the contrary, it testifies to a dynamism and literary vivacity that is growing in our society.

Fortunately, among many stories of selfishness, there were also just as many gestures that spoke of altruism and collaboration.
One of these was the friendship that arose from the meeting of some great literary geniuses: Alexandre Dumas , father, but also son, with Jules Verne .
In 1847 Jules went to study law in Paris and it was here that he met and became friends with Alexandre Dumas, son, and then with Alexandre Dumas, father.
Our writer, however, is more fascinated by literature than by the study of jurisprudence, however his stay in Paris will prove to be a place of human and literary growth.
In 1849 Alexandre Dumas, père, allowed the performance of a comedy in verse by Jules in his theatre.
Verne, although he had studied law, was already a playwright.
Even if this representation will not initially have great results, this episode will allow Jule to fully enter into that literary world that he was so fascinated by.
The Publisher Pierre - Jules Hetzel [photo:web]
In 1862 Jules Verne met the publisher Pierre - Jules Hetzel, who was also Victor Hugo's main publisher, who proposed that he enter into a contract with him which would subsequently allow him to work full time as a writer.
This will be the spark that lights the torch of inspiration in the heart of our writer.
Thanks to this collaboration he will write and publish with his publisher the literary works that we know and that have become famous throughout the world.
Today, as then, finding the support of a Publishing House is perhaps every writer's dream, as it should be to meet colleagues who open their hearts to altruism, who help emerging writers, and who do not fossilize exclusively on their work. This, unfortunately, is a fortune that does not happen often but that can, when it happens, change the course of things.
This is the wish that the editorial staff of lettoriescrittori.it wants to make to all readers and writers who want to try and navigate this beautiful but also lively literary sea.
